Good things come in threes?

Good things come in threes?

Dear Pawlina,

Are the three broadcasts – AM1320, PCJ Radio and CHLY – all
the same or is each different?

Dear Stephen,

Three separate editions of Nash Holos Ukrainian Roots Radio are produced
and aired every week.

1. The Vancouver edition is the “flagship” edition of Nash
Holos. It is a 60-minute show with a focus on the local Vancouver listening
area. It has been airing on AM1320 CHMB since 2000, and had aired previously
on another station from 1990-96. It airs Sundays at 5 pm PST on AM1320 in
Vancouver and streams live at the station website. www.am1320.com  Podcasts
and playlists are archived on the Playlist section of this website. Click
on Listen Here! on the menu bar.

2. The International edition airing on the PCJ Radio network
is a 55-minute edition of the Vancouver show, but without the local focus.
The core content may vary occasionally. It is the most widely distributed
edition of the show, airing Saturdays in over 20 countries on a variety of
AM, FM and shortwave radio stations. You can find the podcast on the Nash
Holos page at the PCJ Media website. You can also get this edition on your
smart phone via the Stitcher app.

3. The Nanaimo edition is the newest addition to the Nash
Holos airwaves, broadcasting live on CHLY 101.7fm Wednesdays at 12 noon.
This 60-minute show has a strong local Vancouver Island focus. The music
is totally different, and other features can be as well. At first this was
unintentional, due to “technical difficulties” created by my live radio learning
curve as well as station requirements. However, with a new co-host, a new
(to me) recording studio, and a new broadcast area, it is just more practical
(and more fun!) to do an original edition. The podcast is available at the
CHLY website at from Daily Splice.

RSS feeds to all three editions are conveniently bundled on the home page
of the website. Depending on listener demand, there could be editions in
more communities in the future. Stay tuned!
